St Giles is the small, friendly parish church of the village of Barlestone. You are very welcome to all our services and events and you can make enquiries about weddings and baptisms through this website.
We try to be a church which reflects and celebrates the community it belongs to.
We gather at 10.00am each Sunday morning apart from the last Sunday in the month where we gather in the afternoon (3pm during the winter months; 4pm during the summer months); we provide a range of biblical, accessible and contemporary worship.
We believe that individuals matter so we try to personalise baptisms, weddings and funerals to serve the needs of those who come.
If have a safeguarding concern, then please contact our local Safeguarding Co-ordinator Prue Crowley on 01455 824148. If you wish to speak to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team or to someone outside the church, their contact details are available here https://www.Leicester.anglican.org/about/safeguarding/
Church Together in Barlestone brings together those who worship at St Giles, the Baptist and Elohim Christian Church. We actively believe in one church that allows for diversity in worship.
The Parish is served by two ordained ministers and a Teo reader. Revd. John Downs who particularly looks after St Giles has lived in the village for over 30 years, as a working and now retired biology lecturer and for many years a non stipendiary minister, Revd. Hazel Aucken who is a curate currently attached to the Benefice and Roger Dunster who plays a key role as Reader.
